Kim Delaney is an American actress best known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. Her upbringing was in a family which included four brothers. As a young girl, Delaney wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. But in highschool the time came when she began modeling for commercials and after moving New York. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Delaney is a well-known actor who has appeared involved in numerous TV movies, and dramas. As with her professional career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and has been through two failed marriages. In 2005 her custody was confiscated from her.
